Located in Northern Michigan, the SPORTSMANS PORT has been serving paddlers and campers since 1968. We continue to be owned and operated by the founding family. Our commitment and years of experience contribute to helping our guests plan successful and enjoyable paddling and camping events.
Our paddlers have the option of renting canoes, kayaks or rafts. We service the beautiful Pine River which is located in the heart of the Manistee National forest . This River is not only one of the most scenic in Northern Michigan; it is also a blue ribbon trout stream. As the highest gradient river in the Lower Peninsula, it allows for hours of enjoyment for most all levels of paddlers. We also assist in placing your own watercraft.
Campers desiring a quiet camping experience with family and friends need look no farther. Our 40-acre modern campground is nestled in a setting of majestic hardwoods. We offer both primitive and electrical sites, each with a fire ring and picnic table. Our office and small convenience store is located on site. A hiking trail of a mile and a half will lead you to the river. Golf courses, swimming lakes, biking trails, restaurants, hotels and supermarkets are conveniently near us.
WE are also 30 minutes from Lake Michigan and the nearest Casino!
